I expected better from Lonely Planet. From a women's packing list that included several shirt tops but not one bottom item (forgetting shorts, skirts, or pants to wear with those tops), to repeated mentions of the obvious (kids need favorite toys), to overly cute mentions of obscure fashion or trendy glam locales, this book was a disappointment. Also frustrating is that the ebook, sold as Kindle compatible, does not download to a Paperwhite. It only read on my iPhone or iPad. The font and entire page was super tiny, and I had to click on each paragraph to expand it. Also, too much of the book was just a brief paragraph with a .com address of several overpriced companies--a good online catalog would have been more useful. Most of the various packing methods were all *best for* the same four different types of bags--hardly useful or nuanced advice. Skip the book and use your common sense.

Some good ideas and lists for different destinations. Clumsy to read/use with odd shape and hard cover...too long and heavy. It should be published as a 7x5" soft cover making easier to use and read not mentioning a reduced price!

I hadn't thought of many things for my trip. This is a great memory jogger. I also appreciated the packing examples.

I'm a race walker, I walked a half marathon during my goal of doing one race a month (I got burned out after August). It's so nice to read a book by someone who runs about the same pace or slightly faster than you do. Most people classify themselves as a slow runner around 12 minute miles and my goal is to run a sub 15 minute mile. This book was super inspiring and encouraging.

Jill is truly an inspiration to me. I have my first planned half marathon in April 2017. I have been going back and forth on whether I feel qualified or even ready for a half. After reading Jill's book I am ready to at least give it a try. She is funny, witty, serious, emotional. I couldn't put this book down. I was sorry to see it end. Thank you, Jill.

Loved the book. I am also a Cleveland girl, so I know the streets and neighborhoods, which made the book fun for me to read. I am also a pack of the pack person, so I appreciate Jill's funny, clever take on life as a slow runner (walker, in my case). Jill has a great "voice". She comes across as honest and earnest. Inspired by Jill, I walked/ran the SNOball 5k this morning and am looking hard at St. Malachi in March. Jill...Hope to see you at the back of the pack some day soon!

As a runner who is just getting back into racing after cancer and treatment I found Jill's story very inspiring. It was exatly the type of story and advice I needed. Having previously been a front to mid pack runner, finding myself at the back of the pack is hard. But reading this book has made me realise that I don't need to be embarrassed and to be more mindful and set my own goals.

Jill writes the way I think. Salty, truthful and funny. I am a newbie fat runner, and I so appreciate the fact that I really am not the only one! This book is down-to-earth and real, and a fun read for anyone - fat, skinny, runner or not. I have experienced walking with a police escort (I wasn't even able to RUN!), and thanks to Jill's sunny and sarcastic disposition I don't feel as bad about being last. Thanks, Jill!

I had hoped there would be more elements of a thriller, but in the end, I was satisfied with the author's choice to keep the plot realistic.If you've read anything about cryonics before reading this book, you will likely see very obvious similarities between the fictional Omega Terrace and the real Alcor Life Extension Foundation. In fact, the description of Dr. Adler's procedures are very realistic and read very much like the case studies that Alcor provides on their website. The only quarrel I have (as I believe other reviewers have pointed out) is the fact that Omega Terrace is portrayed as a for-profit luxury resort. I understand that that image is essential to the plot, but it could give many readers the idea that cryonics is reserved only for the very rich and is designed to be a money-making venture, which it is not.Overall, if you have an interest in cryonics and like realistic courtroom dramas, I highly recommend this book.

I actually came across this book while purchasing Frozen by Larry Johnson. This is was a great read from start to finish. Robert Begam gets your attention from the beginning and holds it strong till you finish the last page. Whether you are a fan of cryonics or not, you will find this to be a good book. You can tell that the author did his homework and that helps make it a very interesting read.

Long Life was an excellent book along the lines of John Grisham with a very interesting subject, cryonics.

A real page-turner written by a defense lawyer with a lot of experience, and, a critical eye for a good story. He casts a sympathetic look at the prosecutors, but also gives a good account of "those other guys" in the Law and Order, etc. genre. A great read.

ALISTAIR BEGG (Trent University; London School of Theology; Westminster Seminary) was born in Scotland and spent the first 30 years of life in the United Kingdom. Since September of 1983, he has been the senior pastor at Parkside Church in suburban Cleveland, Ohio. He is the daily speaker on the national radio program Truth For Life which stems from his weekly Bible teaching at Parkside, and is the author of Made For His Pleasure, Lasting Love, and What Angels Wish They Knew. Bought this as a gift for a 5 year old’s birthday, and he loved it! He can’t read just yet, but his older brother read it to him, and they both spent the better part of the party enjoying the book together. It has interesting facts about various turtles, and lots of great pictures, so the 5 year old enjoys looking at it even when no one is reading it to him. Great for older ages as well. My own children have some of these Nat Geo Readers as well, and they’ve always enjoyed them. They make so many different ones, so if there’s an animal your child is just crazy about, you’re bound to find a book about it.

The best series ever for young readers. It is very hard to find books for young readers that are based on the natural world. The photos are beautiful, the storyline is full of accurate, interesting, scientific facts about the creatures, and has a vocabulary building review at the back of the book. And each book in this series has several upside down jokes that reference the animal, an added point of interest for Montessori and all children. BTW, I have gotten more than 30 of these books for my classroom. Highly recommended!

My 2 year old LOVES this entire series of Nat. Geo Readers... I have purchased about 25 different titles, "pre-readers" as well as Level 1 & 2 readers. She loves them all & will ask for certain ones. The "pre-readers" level books are extremely simple & great because she memorizes the words & can "read" it herself. We love the more advanced ones too, because there is more information to talk about. I have learned quite a few facts, myself!) What a great series. The price is reasonable & pictures are great. These are really getting her interested in nature, animals & science... I will continue to buy these as they are released, for our collection!

Bought a bunch in this series for my nephew who is eager to read and starting kindergarten this month. It's fun to read these together and talk about the topics as we go. More than once he has chimed in with a fact of his own he learned some were else. I love that these get him excited to read and learn in general.

My five year old LOVES to read and LOVES turtles! He LOVES this book! There are a lot of pictures for him to enjoy and enough for him to read.

Bought for a gift. Interesting little gift.The recipient loves turtles and enjoyed the gift.

I bought literally 30 of these for my niece who loves them. They are such a quick read beautiful pictures she cannot put them down. She has all of them I hope they make more.
