Disappointed with the reproduction in this edition. I have many a Dover archival books collected over the years. These images are poorly printed as the black is too heavy causing the detail to be lost in the darker areas. I use these in collages as does my wife and in graphics occasionally in my graphic design work. This particular book is a waste of money. I don't know what to suggest? I have enough well done issues that I can call on but this is one does not cut it.

As a graphic designer with a soft spot for period illustration, I love to collect the Dover books that feature Victorian and old-time copyright free images. I used a number of the images in this book, but since some were part of a larger scene and/or somewhat muddy in quality, they all needed a bit of digital touchup. I realize that the images are vintage, but it's hard to use them when the lines run together and some small details are little more than blobs. The large size of most images reflects their original use as multiple-vignette posters, but again this makes it difficult to isolate a single image from the larger overall scene. To conclude on a high note, it is a valuable collection of antique circus images and I do enjoy having it in my library. My client is also pleased with the amusing images I was able to glean for his website....

I bought just one copy of the book, but I put it under the document camera and on the Interwrite board. I had a very small ESL reading class (only 12 students), and they got a big kick out of most of the stories in this book. All of the students were 6th and 7th grade Hispanic students and they could really relate to the stories about Hispanics in CA who were there their age.The book arrived quickly and I was able to find some free lesson plans online to print out. A great buy and I plan to use the book again with another class of students this year. I'm sure they'll like the stories, too. If I didn't have to buy books myself without reimbursement, I'd sure buy at set of these books!

I saw Gary Soto give a reading at the SF Public Library and found him to be quote wonderful. He is also a true artist who is moved in many direction by his muse. I recommend this book!

I ordered this book to using in my classrooms library, received it and began looking through the stories when I saw it was signed by the author himself! I have since added the book to my home library to keep safe.

Some of the stories are good some are just OK.

It's a really happy and fun book with nice designs and positive quotes. The paper works well with pencils.

Lots of fun pages to color with happy quotes. Coloring page is printed on one side of paper and back includes nice quote. Includes helpful tips for coloring and several colored samples as inspiration. I like Thaneeya's fun inspirational pages.

I love coloring as a form of meditation. After or during a stressful day I bring out my coloring books and markers, (I prefer using a combination of permanent markers along with pencils when I color), and focus in on choosing the right shades and keeping it inside the lines, etc. It is extremely relaxing for one who does not have a lot of natural artistic talent.This particular book is one of the best out there. Not only is it fun to color letters, but the author, Thaneeya McArdle, gives some great tips on pattern techniques, shading, blending, color theory, and color combining along with her outstanding, fun and insightful illustrations. I would recommend any of her other coloring books. I also have purchased "Live For Today" and it is just as wonderful.Adult coloring for meditation, or just for fun, is a simple and inexpensive hobby and it incredibly relaxing, calming and the perfect way to unwind after a strenuous day.

I absolutely LOVE almost all of Thaneeya's books. This one is awesome! Great pictures to color. I am VERY PICKY when it comes to coloring. I am a busy person and very creative so when I have a few minutes to dedicate to a picture I have to REALLY like it. This book is full of them! Great pictures and phrases! This book is so good that the uncolored pages are good enough to keep and/or frame! If you want some inspiration or "JOY" get this!

I love this coloring book! The pictures and sayings are actually what I need to destress. The pages are perforated for easy removal and the paper is good quality. I have ordered a 2nd book to color again some of my favorite pics.

This is perfect for our cantankerous 95 year-old who colors constantly. It gives her a nice subliminal message to see the brighter side of things.

I am an adult and yes I still love to color! The pictures in this book are easy to color and turn out beautifully!
