Bought this as a gift for a 5 year old’s birthday, and he loved it! He can’t read just yet, but his older brother read it to him, and they both spent the better part of the party enjoying the book together. It has interesting facts about various turtles, and lots of great pictures, so the 5 year old enjoys looking at it even when no one is reading it to him. Great for older ages as well. My own children have some of these Nat Geo Readers as well, and they’ve always enjoyed them. They make so many different ones, so if there’s an animal your child is just crazy about, you’re bound to find a book about it.
The best series ever for young readers. It is very hard to find books for young readers that are based on the natural world. The photos are beautiful, the storyline is full of accurate, interesting, scientific facts about the creatures, and has a vocabulary building review at the back of the book. And each book in this series has several upside down jokes that reference the animal, an added point of interest for Montessori and all children. BTW, I have gotten more than 30 of these books for my classroom. Highly recommended!
My 2 year old LOVES this entire series of Nat. Geo Readers... I have purchased about 25 different titles, "pre-readers" as well as Level 1 & 2 readers. She loves them all & will ask for certain ones. The "pre-readers" level books are extremely simple & great because she memorizes the words & can "read" it herself. We love the more advanced ones too, because there is more information to talk about. I have learned quite a few facts, myself!) What a great series. The price is reasonable & pictures are great. These are really getting her interested in nature, animals & science... I will continue to buy these as they are released, for our collection!
Bought a bunch in this series for my nephew who is eager to read and starting kindergarten this month. It's fun to read these together and talk about the topics as we go. More than once he has chimed in with a fact of his own he learned some were else. I love that these get him excited to read and learn in general.
My five year old LOVES to read and LOVES turtles! He LOVES this book! There are a lot of pictures for him to enjoy and enough for him to read.
Bought for a gift. Interesting little gift.The recipient loves turtles and enjoyed the gift.
I bought literally 30 of these for my niece who loves them. They are such a quick read beautiful pictures she cannot put them down. She has all of them I hope they make more.
Books were perfect for my 3rd grader who used them in a social studies project.
